Valentine’s Day Outfits

Hey You,

Welcome back to my blog!

Valentine’s day is almost around the corner and the town will soon be painted with red. Let me tell you, wearing anything adorned in hearts or flowers will definitely make you look like a Valentine's Day enthusiast. In case that's not exactly the vibe you're going for, in this blog, I will show you a selection of outfits that are unique and on the more subtle side.

Whether you’re having a date or you’re spending your time with your friends, I believe, you would want to look and feel good on the 14th of February. Well, lucky you, if you have a special someone but even if you don’t, you can still have a memorable day.

Valentine’s is about spreading love. Whether you are going out for a romantic dinner, eating out with family, or grabbing bottles of whiskey with friends, I assume, you would want to keep your outfit chic. Here are five super easy non-clichéd Valentine’s Day outfit ideas that will never go wrong.

Look 1: Wearing red on Valentine’s can be a little bit risky. I personally think that you can either nail it or feel uncomfortable wearing too much red. Like me, if you love red but you're hesitant about going for the traditional red Valentine's shade, opt for colors in a similar palette or different tones of red, like oxblood, magenta or burgundy which still fits the day's vibes.

A quick styling tip is to wear a skirt suit set with a basic top. Trust me, this can never go wrong. Feel free to mix and match the skirt suit set. While an oversized burgundy blazer would look as good, I chose a fitted magenta blazer over a burgundy belt-detail skirt. A white v-neck tank top and off white knee-high boots helped with a clean and classy finish to the outfit.

It is a little chilly here in New York and I am a big fan of trench coats. If you are like me, feel free to layer your outfit with a gorgeous long trench coat giving you some French vibes while keeping you warm.

To complete the look, I accessorized my outfit with a belted clutch from Charles & Keith and a gorgeous cube pendant necklace from Swarovski.

Look 2: If you have a red coat, you can skip worrying about the outfit itself and have the coat make it Valentine's for you. Now you don't have to worry about what you're going to wear, you can just pick something cute that you're comfortable in and throw on the beautiful red coat.

I decided to wear a black ruffled jumpsuit and pair it with a red blazer. You could either pair it with red or black heels and accessorize to dress up or down.

Red works wonders with black, white and off white colors but feel free to experiment. If you want, you can just skip the traditions and red outfit all together and just pick a red bag. You're in luck because red bags are trendy, extremely luxurious and chic.

Look 3: While a little black dress is the safest option, a velvet dress will give you a classy rich look for the occasion.

I chose to wear a mini plunge neck purple velvet detail dress and paired it with contrasting knee-high boots to complete the look. I wore this on New Year’s eve but this will be a great outfit for Valentine’s too. Again, you can’t go wrong with a LBD or a mini velvet dress.

Look 4: Monochrome is the way to go. Shades of black and white paired together never go wrong.

Look 5: Here's a smart trick for you. Make your outfit about a completely different color, or colors. That way the outfit isn't about red at all and it's only a subtle smart addition by you. This is also a really fun outfit idea if you love playing with color.

If you are all in for midi dresses and co-ords, then beige blouse and a black skirt or a sage fringed midi dress works wonders for Valentine’s. I think this is a cool hack to stand out in a crowd wearing all red and make some heads turn. Agree?

While you pick your outfit for the most-awaited Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to be comfortable in what you pick to wear and enjoy every moment of your time with your loved ones.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here’s a tip for the week-

Tip #16: Opt for colors in a similar palette to red like oxblood, magenta or burgundy which still fits the day's vibes. A red coat, a red bag and a mini velvet dress can do the outfit magic for you. If you plan to stand out, go for an altogether different colored midi dress and have fun.
