Fall’ing Vermont
Hey You,
Welcome back to my blog!
We’ve hit that point in the year where the seasons are changing—it’s no longer summer, but it’s new and refreshing. I love this time of the year because it feels like a fresh start for some reason. It’s the cool air when I go out on a morning walk that just puts me at ease, or the shorter days that make me shut down my computer earlier, pour a cup of coffee and slow down. I can’t wait to walk the beautiful park streets carpeted by the orange and red leaves wearing those gorgeous dresses, over coats, berets and fedoras. It’s all so pretty everywhere!
I know, it’s been a month since I talked to you through my blog. Things at work have been keeping me busy recently, not letting me have enough time in hand to do more blogging. But as you all have been requesting to post my 4-day Vermont Fall vacation pictures and share the outfit ideas, here I am with all the details.
Day 1: We drove straight to Lake Champlain for a historic tour in a Cruise Ship. It was chilly and windy by the lake but the sun was shining bright. We decided to sit by the lake later and watch the sunset and try some local cuisine at downtown Church St.
To be able to do some activities like biking while staying warm and looking chic both together, I decided to wear a high slit knit skirt and a turtleneck. Paired it with a black formal over coat, and chunky boots to keep me warm. If you are like me who prefers wearing golden jewelry instead of silver, try wearing diamonds in silver chains and a combination of rings and midi-rings.
Recently I have been crushing over the pastels and the gorgeous mints. I say, try some new colors and find the yours that blend well. This outfit has my favorite color combination-it’s unique and that bold burgundy and the subtle pastel green go well together.
You can find the turtleneck and the coat at H&M and similar skirts at Forever 21 or Zara.
This outfit has the perfect fall vibe you want and trust me, a layered dress with boots will keep you warm. You can find them boots at DSW.
Day 2: We left our hotel having planned to do a short trail but we got too excited and hiked almost to the top of Mount Mansfield. Later, we drove through some scenic places nearby, stopped by a cider mill for cider donuts and had some amazing ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s factory.
Given the plan for less than half a mile trail and not wanting to be in active wear throughout the day, I decided to wear jeans given the activities we had planned for the rest of the day. I stuck to basics, sky-blue vintage mom’s denim jeans, a velvet royal blue sweatshirt and pretty white sneakers. It was colder that day but the white puffer jacket and the gorgeous scarf kept me warm.
You can find these denim jeans at Garage and the sweatshirt at H&M. Shoes are from Nike and the puffer jacket is from Missguided.
Day 3: We drove through the Stowe Scenic Drive and it was the prettiest thing I have ever seen. The Fall colors were beautiful. We then drove through a few small towns, and went to Killington.
For a slightly warmer fall weather, I decided to wear a short black ‘busy-floral’ dress with boots to contrast with the Fall colors. Paired it with black boots, over coat and a beautiful fedora cause why not!
If it is not as windy and chilly, feel free to skip the coat like I did. The boots will do the magic.
Day 4: On the last day of the trip, we planned to stop by Quechee Gorge and Woodford State Park. Along the way we found a few beautiful spots and decided to stop to see the fall colors from the top. DM me on Instagram if you’d like to see some of my landscape photography.
Here are some pictures of me enjoying the Sun at Quechee Gorge and Woodford State Park. I chose to wore a cute floral top with a black straight denim, a cute bow shaped necklace and white puffer jacket to complete the not-so monochromatic look.
Feel free to swap boots with pumps and coats with cardigans. After all, Fall is all about creating a perfect blend of style and colors. Enjoy the colder weather by layering your summer outfits, accessorize them and don’t forget to have fun.
Be it summer lace dresses, midi dresses, puffer jackets or heavy overcoats, pumps or boots, you can mix and match the apparels to create a gorgeous fall outfit. Like I said in my previous blog, the best thing about Fall is that you can utilize your wardrobe end-to-end. Here’s the tip for the week-
Tip #12: Don’t put away your skirts and dresses yet. Pair them with turtlenecks, sweatshirts, overcoats and puffer jackets. Basics go a long way but feel free to add a pop of fall color to make it interesting. Pastels are so in, but feel free to go bold with darker shades and accessorize your fall outfit.
