The Short Summer

Hey friends, what’s up?
Welcome to my blog!

As the lockdown restrictions are pacifying, I know all of you want to get out there and make the most of the left-over summer. To enjoy the sun and get those shorts out of the closet, I have picked out 3 different types of shorts for all body types.

I believe that shorts are the signature dresses of coolness but they can also manage to give you a hot look with coziness. Plus, if you are one of those who don't love to pack much for their travel, then shorts are super handy for you. Without further ado, let us get started.

Pick 1: The Flared White Shorts

My first pick is this high-waisted flared white shorts from CHEMISTRY. For those of you who are worried about constant readjusting of the shorts or them cutting into the thighs or riding up the thighs, these shorts are perfect. Given the cut, the wide-legged shorts will not make the bottom look too wide and would fit perfectly to show the curves you have. I have worn these shorts quite a bit and would highly recommend having one of these in your wardrobe for the summer.

Even though CHEMISTRY does not have these shorts anymore, an exact replica is available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Since, Saks Fifth Avenue has limited stock for certain sizes, I am adding in the links to some very similar ones at ASOS (Also available in plus sizes).

I chose to pair these shorts with a dark peacock green mock neck tank top. Here is a similar top. If you do not find comfort in wearing a body-hugging top, a straight fit top like the one from F21 or a plus sized tank top works wonders too. After all, it is all about comfort! To complete the look, I wore the parrot green heels from Lulus, a sky-blue mini bag from Zara and left my hair open.

You can wear these washable shorts anywhere from a casual outing to a party. You can also accessorize the attire with a beach hat and enjoy your time at the beach.

Pick 2: The Denim Shorts

There’s no summer without denim shorts! If you’ve been looking for the perfect shorts to work into your wardrobe, trust me, the two denim shorts I am sharing with you today are game-changers.

The first one is a ripped hem black denim short. You can find these at ASOS and Aeropostale. These shorts are a little towards the tighter side and hence I chose to pair it with a white fringed sleeveless loose top. A black denim short is a must have and you can style it with anything and still look effortlessly chic.

If you are interested in the top, Largo Drive has an amazing fringe top that you might want to checkout. To add a pop of color, I chose these two-toned blue strap heels from LifeStride and an olive-green choker necklace as a bracelet.

The second one is a high-rise cuffed light blue denim short with a ripped hem from Forever 21 (Also available in plus sizes at Fashion Nova). This is my favorite pair of shorts as it does not cut into my thighs when I sit down but shows my curves. I wore them last year to Universal Studios, Orlando (Hi, Harry Potter Fan, anything from Leaky Cauldron?). They were so comfortable for all the walking, running, rides and other activities.

I paired these shorts with a black bodysuit and white shoes from Nike. To add some color, I decided to accessorize it with a brown leather bag and oval maroon framed sunglasses.

Pick 3: The Biker Shorts

Being a casual girl, biker shorts are my go-to shorts. These shorts remind me of my sports days back in high school and college. I have been using these biker shorts for years now and the current trend gives me all the more reason to wear them out to run errands, hangout with friends or for a jog. I got these biker shorts long ago, but I have also tried the black biker shorts from Aeropostale and I absolutely love them.

To add some style, I knotted my neon T-shirt from Reebok, tied my hair up high and added some pastel color to the outfit with these amazing, comfortable and stylish Puma shoes.

We at Stylouette think that style tips are super important in our busy schedules. So, we will be sharing a style tip with every blog that we post. Here’s the tip for the week-

Tip #1: With shorts, go monochrome or go contrast. With flared shorts we recommend a body hugging or a straight fit top and for a tight short, we suggest a loose top. Happy Summer!
