Brunch Look

Hey You,

Welcome back to my blog!

It’s a new summer day and it’s brunch season. We know exactly what this means. It is time for me to share gorgeous and unique brunch outfit ideas that you can put together for breakfast, brunch or lunch all summer long.

In case you haven’t heard of brunch before, it is a late morning meal which is a combination of both breakfast and lunch. A brunch outfit is an ensemble worn for this occasion (no rocket science here). Catching up with my family and friends usually calls for a brunch plan. After all, who doesn’t like to discuss their career, life and love interests over croissants and coffee (and Mimosas)?

So, what exactly can you wear for a summer brunch?

While there are no hard and fast rules on dressing up for brunch, most people aim for a casual yet chic attire. It’s Sunday and naturally the thought of dressing up “early” in the morning is not very appealing. Luckily, achieving a casual comfortable look is easier than you might think. Loose skirts, breezy dresses, and lightweight shorts make an excellent choice to keep you feeling cool yet chic on that brunch.

You might be wondering how do these apparel make for a unique brunch outfit. Well…

What do you think about styling that unironed formal shirt in your closet for brunch?

While you can pair your skirt with a cute crop top or an oversized sweatshirt, I decided to wear my not-so-ironed white formal shirt. Here are some pictures from my last Sunday brunch with my friends:

If you feel like your formal office wear is sitting in the wardrobe, pull out the light pastel colors and pair them with an easy breezy casual skirt or a light blue denim jean. I buttoned half my shirt, tucked in one half of it and left the other half out. I wore my clear strap heels and tied my hair in a messy bun for a comfortable, casual, bright and a unique look.

If you don’t already have one, then you can find this formal white shirt at ASOS. I got the skirt from Forever21. The wallet is from Steve Madden and the pistachio heels are from Lulus.

Here are some pictures showing how the shirt looks from the side.

This outfit is super comfortable if you are planning for any indoor post-brunch games. In case you are wondering, we played a lot of games and I was super comfortable in this outfit.

If you notice, I chose to wear fresh colors for the occasion. White, bright yellow and pistachio are bright, clean and fresh colors that go well together. Another combination I would want to try is pistachio, pastel blue and pink. Feel free to try these color combinations or choose the colors of your choice.

In case you are wondering how the shirt looks from the back, it looks it is diagonally folded from the bottom. Sharing more pictures below -

In case you want to know, we ordered from Anthony Davids. The food was delicious and I highly recommend trying it.

Anyway, for brunch outfits, I personally recommend whites and fresh bright colors for the summer. As I always say, feel free to embrace prints, bold colors and playful accessories and don’t forget to have fun!

The good part about this outfit is that it looks well on all silhouettes but if you are not comfortable wearing the skirt, feel free to style your loose A-line pleated skirt with the shirt. Here is my blog on styling pleated skirts. Pair it with a white belt or no belt to dress it down. Sport those sneakers to make you feel cool and comfy.

A few of my other unique and favorite brunch outfit ideas that you might want to try are –

  • Tracksuit pants, white tee and an overcoat

  • A loose boho maxi dress

  • A white short jumpsuit and a pastel coat/blazer

  • T-shirt dress and boots

  • Blue denim, white tee and sneakers (not so unique but never goes wrong)

Here’s the tip for the week-

Tip #6: For brunch, be considerate of the venue and aim for a gorgeous yet relaxed aesthetic. For an informal brunch look, dress up with breezy, lightweight styles in summer and opt for a cozy knitwear in winter. For a formal brunch look, a blue denim, white tee, a blazer and heels or boots will make you look perfect for the occasion.
