Sweater Weather
Hey You,
Welcome back to my blog!
It’s Sweater Weather! My favorite part about Fall/Winter is that we can bust out layered styles and make any outfit comfy and cozy—but still chic. Yes, it is possible to get that sexy and put together look with oversized, cozy sweater outfits and dresses!
Ever wondered how to be elegantly warm on freezing Friday evenings?
Then this blog is for you. Whether it’s dinner/drinks with friends or a party, everyone wants to be well dressed on a Friday night. Being super excited to wear a pretty short dress but soon realizing that it’s freezing outside brings the world’s most scary question to my mind – ‘What should I wear’?
Don’t worry! Turtlenecks, mock necks, cowl necks—you name it—are our best friends this season. Sure, a little shoulder never hurt anybody, but we live for these snuggly necklines that make you feel like you’re in a blanket, always. You can even turn summer outfit pieces into cold-weather-worthy winter outfits. And if you have read my previous blogs, you know I like putting my wardrobe pieces to work.
Here is a way to style your turtleneck-
Wearing a black turtle neck sweater paired with a dark olive front-zipped faux leather skirt, I felt warm and cozy in walking on the windy streets of New York. Sporting the black striped stocking with the knee-high black faux leather boots to keep the feet warm, match the color of my sweatshirt and make the outfit stand out.
I am a big fan of skirts - body con, skater, pencil, umm…all of them! To make it an evening look, I had two options to pair my sweater with – a short buttoned skirt that contrasts with my sweater or a leather skirt. Not only did I choose the leather skirt but to complete this sassy evening look I took the liberty of wearing a black striped stocking that makes the outfit stand out. Finally, all I had to do is boot it up (high up)!
You can find similar turtleneck sweaters and faux-leather skirts at H&M or Zara. I got the stocking from Forever 21 and the boots from Zara
Fun fact: This was my very first shoot when I decided to start blogging. I shot this in the City pre-pandemic and never got a chance to post this.
Even though I shot this blog about a year ago, the outfit is still relevant and trendy. Sweaters, skirts and over-the-knee boots will always be on the fashion forefront so don’t hesitate to be creative with this outfit idea.
Now what good would this blog be without essential pairings to keep on rotation with your newfound sweater pieces? Boots, booties, and over the knee boots in leather, suede, or faux materials, are perfect for all your winter outfit ideas. You can pair an oversized sweater with your fave summer boyfriend denim jeans, and ankle boots or, try on a turtleneck sweater with a mini skirt and over the knee boots like I did. Are your creative juices flowing too?
Oversized sweaters or large necklines seem to be made for layering. Try layering a sweater with a collared shirt below for a cozy, and slightly preppy look. Voila! It’s like you bought a whole new top (I won’t tell.) Pair this look with skinny jeans to balance out the slouchy silhouette on top. Give those knee-high socks and back-to-school shoes a try with your gorgeous and fluffy sweater dresses and you’ve another unique outfit idea there.
These looks are also great when paired with loafers or sneakers! Yes, even the sweater dresses. You know those slide-on mules or those sneakers you can’t seem to stop wearing? Pair them with sheer ankle socks and you’ve instantly elevated any look I have mentioned. It’s a tip to make a stylish statement with any outfit.
Remember that sweaters work for all silhouettes. So let your creative juices flow. Layer them, accessorize them and don’t forget to have fun.
Thank you for reading my blog.

Here’s the tip for the week-
Tip #13: All sweaters are our best friends this season. Sweaters, skirts and over-the-knee boots will always be on the fashion forefront and look great on all silhouettes. Layer large necklines, show-off the turtleneck over your leather pants, cute socks and sassy boots, booties and over-the-knee boots.
